Annual Hach Walk for Water Initiative

The 8th annual Walk for Water event took place between June 26th and July 2nd, 2021. Hach collaborated with Water Mission to increase awareness of the global water crisis and to raise funds for water treatment projects in developing regions. The walk helps fulfill Hachs important mission of ensuring water quality for people around the world.





Globally, 2.2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. The walk mirrors the 3 mile (5 km) journey that millions of people walk every day to collect water. This primarily impacts women and children, who need to walk for water, at the expense of receiving proper education or being more productive.

From all around the world, more than 900 associates, family members and friends joined us from Hach, OTT/HydroMet, Sea-Bird Scientific, ChemTreat, Danaher Water Quality Platform, and Danaher Corporate for this Walk for Water Initiative. Together, we raised $57,643 for Water Mission, which brings our total fundraising impact to more than $350,000 since 2014.

The donations made to Water Mission will support water treatment projects around the globe, like the previously Hach-funded sustainable water projects in these locations:



Every dollar received in donation to the Walk for Water yields more than a 400% economic return.
These funds go a long way in reducing the more than 400 million missed school days that can be attributed to the global water crisis. Our partner, Water Mission, uses our donations to design, build, and implement safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas.
