Hach Helps

At Hach, we believe that actions speak louder than words. That's why we have founded the Hach Helps initiative, which offers associates the opportunity to impact those around the corner and around the world.

Our values and principles guide us in this commitment to our local communities and to organisations dedicated to providing clean and safe water to those who need it. Hach Helps has partnered with select non-profit organisations to share our commitment with others.

Water for People

Water For People exists to promote the development of high quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. Born out of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, Water For People was established in 1991.

How Hach Helps: Hach has supported Water For People over the years by providing funds, equipment and expertise. Hach has joined Water For People in the wake of natural disasters to help get clean water to those in need, as well as assisted in implementing new water and sanitation projects all over the world.

Water Mission

Water Mission designs, builds and implements safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas. Since their founding in 2001, they have grown to over 250 staff members around the world in permanent country programs, using innovative technology and engineering expertise to break through the global water crisis.

How Hach Helps: In addition to providing equipment and monetary donations in the aftermath of global disasters, the longstanding partnership between Hach and Water Mission has been enhanced in recent years with the start of the annual Hach Walk for Water. This Walk is designed to raise community awareness regarding the global water crisis and collect donations to provide sustainable water treatment systems for struggling communities throughout the world.

United Way of Larimer County

United Way of Larimer County, along with community partners, donors, and supporters, are working toward the long-term solutions in the areas of education, income and health to achieve greater community impact.

How Hach Helps: Hach has supported the United Way campaign for many years through fundraising events and activities. Hach runs a week-long campaign every year that allows associates the ability to donate a portion of their pay during the campaign and participate in activities throughout the week. All proceeds from the weeks activities go to United Way of Larimer County.

Boys & Girls Club of Larimer County

The Boys & Girls Club of Larimer County enables all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. They offer a safe place for unsupervised and vulnerable children to come and discover their potential and learn skills to help them succeed. The goal is help them become better people, better members of the community – leaders in the labour force.

How Hach Helps: Hach works with this impressive organisation by providing both monetary support, sponsorship and volunteers for their events throughout the year. Their STEAMfest in Northern Colorado is one of the highlights and allows us to showcase the fun side of chemistry to the next generation.

The Matthews House

The Matthews House empowers youths and families in Northern Colorado to become self-sufficient. Many of the youths and families they work with are involved with the Department of Human Services, foster care, or the juvenile justice system. Through their two Community Life Centers, The Matthews House also serves youth and families at large; helping them avoid abuse and neglect that otherwise could have led to them needing services later in life. The Matthews House Education & Employment Center opened in April, 2015, and provides job and vocational training to get individuals into a career path that pays a living wage.

How Hach Helps: Hach Helps assists, donates, and volunteers at many of the events that are sponsored by the Matthews House. Some of the events include support services for families and children, providing meals in the community and donating supplies so families with new babies get the best start they can.

Cameroon

Hach associates in Germany worked with Belgian organisation “Engineers without Frontiers” to assist a community in Cameroon. For this project, the associates provided necessary funding to build a rain water harvesting facility that allows a local school to collect as much rain water as possible during the raining season, delivering fresh water for the school’s pupils and teachers, as well as enough to support a vegetable garden. In addition, the team provided basic water quality testing training and educated local community members to build additional rain collection systems in the future.
